Wed Society® | Savannah + Coastal Georgia 2026 Cover Wedding
We’re so excited to share a closer look at Annie and Ryan’s heartfelt downtown Savannah wedding, beautifully captured by Harwell Photography and featured on the cover of our 2026 Wed Society® | Savannah + Coastal Georgia Book of Weddings!
Surrounded by Savannah’s historic architecture, oak-lined streets, and timeless scenery, their celebration seamlessly blended modern elegance, meaningful family traditions, and Annie’s Greek heritage. Every detail was thoughtfully chosen, creating a wedding that was not only beautiful to see, but deeply personal to experience.
Annie + Ryan’s Favorite Moments
When reflecting on their wedding day, Annie and Ryan shared that one of the most meaningful moments happened during their ceremony:
“We could truly feel all the love surrounding us during the ceremony. There was a quiet moment when we looked at each other holding hands, and it just felt surreal — like we were seeing each other in a new light.”
The reception brought even more unforgettable memories, including a surprise from Annie’s mom and closest friends.
“They came out with feather boas and surrounded me as we all danced to ‘Mamma Mia!’ It was such a sweet and special moment I’ll never forget.”
The evening ended with the couple surrounded by their families as “Don’t Stop Believin’” played, creating one final joy-filled moment they will always hold close.
The Wedding Day
Set in the heart of downtown Savannah, Annie and Ryan’s wedding was a thoughtful blend of timeless Southern beauty, modern design, and meaningful cultural details. The city’s historic streets and iconic architecture provided a picturesque backdrop for the day, while the couple’s carefully curated details made the celebration feel unmistakably their own.
From the beginning of the planning process, Annie and her mom knew they wanted every element to feel intentional. Having previously worked together as day-of assistants within the wedding industry, planning Annie’s own celebration became an especially meaningful experience for them both.
Annie shared that one of the greatest lessons she learned throughout the process was the importance of personalization:
“Incorporate as many meaningful details, big or small, as you can. Those personal touches are what make your wedding truly yours.”
That sentiment could be felt throughout the entire celebration. Annie personally designed the couple’s invitations, signage, and calligraphy, adding a handcrafted element to the day. Posey Event Design helped bring the couple’s vision together through polished planning, thoughtful design, and seamless coordination.
Specialty estate tables and three long reception tables created an intimate, family-style atmosphere inspired by Annie’s memories of gathering with loved ones in Greece.
“It reminded me of dinners back in Greece — long tables, good food, and everyone gathered together,” Annie shared.
Harvey Designs completed the setting with hydrangeas, soft greenery, and layered floral textures that elevated the modern white-and-green color palette. Every element complemented the beauty of downtown Savannah while creating an atmosphere that felt refined, inviting, and personal.
And let’s not forget the amazing custom cocktails by Shaken & Stirred Mixology, who kept the fun vibes going all night long.
Planner Mika’l of Posey Event Design reflected on what made the celebration so memorable:
“The location of downtown Savannah, the iconic photography opportunities, and the beautifully curated design and florals made this wedding feel timeless from beginning to end.”
Honoring Annie’s Greek Heritage
As a bride born in Greece, Annie knew that honoring her heritage would be an important part of the wedding. Cultural details were woven throughout the celebration in ways that felt natural, meaningful, and true to her story.
The couple used a coffee table book featuring the seaside area where Annie spent her childhood summers as their guest book, creating a special connection between her past and the future she and Ryan are building together.
During the ceremony, Annie and Ryan participated in the traditional stefana crowning ritual, which symbolizes the unity of the couple. It became one of the most emotional and significant moments of the day.
Later in the evening, guests joined the newlyweds on the dance floor for a lively Greek dance.
“It was such a fun, joy-filled moment!” Annie shared.
From the reception layout to the ceremony traditions, each cultural element added another layer of meaning to the celebration while allowing Annie and Ryan to honor both their families and their shared future.
Capturing Every Meaningful Moment
Behind the lens, Harwell Photography preserved the emotion, beauty, and personality of the day through timeless imagery. From quiet moments before the ceremony to joyful celebrations on the dance floor, every photograph reflected the connection between Annie and Ryan and the love surrounding them.
The couple shared that photographer Jeremy Harwell’s calming presence helped them feel comfortable and fully present throughout the day.
“He spent the entire day with us, and by the end he felt more like family than a vendor,” Annie shared.
As a couple who did not naturally feel comfortable in front of the camera, Annie and Ryan especially appreciated Jeremy’s ability to make the experience feel effortless.
“He captured the day exactly how we remember it — every emotion, every glance, every little in-between moment that made it ours.”
For the couple, his genuine care was just as meaningful as his talent.
“He cared about our wedding as much as we did, and that genuine passion shines through in every photo.”
A Celebration Filled with Savannah Charm
Savannah played an unforgettable role in Annie and Ryan’s wedding, from portraits along its historic streets to the warm, elegant atmosphere of the reception. The city’s oak trees, architecture, and soft coastal light added a distinctly local beauty to every part of the celebration.
Guests were also treated to a beloved Savannah favorite, Leopold’s Ice Cream, adding a sweet local touch to the evening.
Through heartfelt traditions, intentional design, joyful surprises, and timeless photography, Annie and Ryan created a wedding that honored their families, celebrated Annie’s heritage, and reflected the life they are beginning together.
