A styled shoot we just can’t stop thinking about.
Set inside May River Manor, Midnight Scarlet Affair offers a fresh take on Valentine-inspired wedding design—one that leans into mood, depth, and a more modern sense of romance.
Rather than soft pastels and traditional details, this styled shoot embraces a richer palette of burgundy, scarlet, black, ivory, and silver. Velvet textures, layered linens, and dramatic drapery transform the manor’s classic interiors into a more intimate, editorial setting. The overall design feels elevated and immersive, creating a space that looks and feels like a celebration already in motion.
Florals by Farmers Blue feature sculptural white lilies, adding contrast and balance to the darker tones. Fruit elements such as grapes, pomegranates, and apples are thoughtfully incorporated throughout the tablescape, bringing in texture, movement, and subtle symbolism tied to abundance and passion.
One of the most unique elements of the shoot is how seamlessly the culinary details are woven into the design. Rather than a traditional dessert display, sweets by D’Flavor Custom Cakes are styled as part of the overall tablescape. From oyster-inspired cake pops that resemble pearls to pavlovas topped with wine-poached pears, each piece doubles as both a visual and edible element, blurring the line between dessert and décor.
Cocktails by Shaken & Stirred Mixology further enhance the experience, with deep red drinks that perfectly complement the palette and mood. Their presence adds another layer of intentionality, reinforcing the idea that every detail from styling to service contributes to the overall atmosphere.
Fashion plays a key role in softening the look. The gown from Bridals by Gilbert, designed by Anna Crownhart Designs, introduces movement and lightness with flowing tulle, balancing the richness of the setting. Paired with beauty by Inga, the overall bridal look feels confident, modern, and editorial – less traditional, more expressive.
Captured by Amia Marcell Photography, the shoot is designed to feel less like a staged moment and more like an unfolding evening; Where guests gather, music plays, and the table becomes part of the experience itself.
Midnight Scarlet Affair highlights a shift toward more intentional, design-driven weddings. It speaks to couples who are drawn to mood, storytelling, and a more personalized approach, proving that romance doesn’t have to be soft to be impactful.
