Lindsay and Daniel’s wedding was a true reflection of who they are: creative, intentional, and deeply personal. Designed around an eclectic romantic theme, their day blended color, texture, and meaningful details in a way that felt both curated and completely their own! To say we are obsessed is an understatement.
As artists, the couple took the lead on every aspect of the design. Daniel, an illustrator for Paperless Post, leans toward a more modern aesthetic- clean lines, structured spaces, and a love for black. Lindsay, a print and graphic artist, draws inspiration from collected objects, layered textures, and vibrant color. Together, they found a balance that brought both of their styles to life.
Their design process started with a carefully built color palette and moodboard, aiming to create a space that felt romantic yet visually rich. Vintage pieces, sentimental items, and bold textiles were layered throughout Soho South, transforming the venue into a series of thoughtful vignettes. From bookshelves to the fireplace mantel, every corner was intentionally styled.
Lindsay and Daniel even designed and illustrated their entire stationery suite by hand, including programs, menus, table cards, and signage. Lindsay sketched out layouts for the space, while she and her mom sourced decor from home such as candlesticks, brass pieces, placemats, and more.. editing and refining until everything came together cohesively.
Bringing all of these moving pieces together required both vision and execution, and that’s where LM Events played a key role. Working closely with the couple, their team helped translate Lindsay and Daniel’s ideas into a cohesive, functional event ensuring that every layered detail, from the eclectic tabletop designs to the lounge areas, came together seamlessly on the wedding day. With so many personalized elements involved, their coordination allowed the couple to stay present and fully enjoy the experience they had worked so hard to create.
The design was elevated even further through layered rentals like ceiling drapery, deep blue velvet linens, and a standout green floral tablecloth. A cozy lounge area added to the atmosphere, reinforcing the intimate, gathered feel the couple envisioned.
The ceremony was one of the most meaningful parts of the day. As Lindsay shared, “My favorite part of the ceremony was during our pastor’s message. Our pastor from Brooklyn – Rev. Caleb Klardy – had us individually send him our 10 favorite things about one another. Neither Daniel nor I knew what we said about one another up until that moment during the ceremony. That’s when the tears started to flow from both of us. We then exchanged vows and we participated in communion for our first act as a married couple.”
The reception carried that same sense of intimacy and intention. Candlelight filled the space, highlighting the layered tablescapes and creating a warm, inviting glow. “My favorite moment during the reception was looking around the room – seeing people’s faces as they conversed and laughed and ate. To be surrounded by people that you really love and love you. The candle lighting brought intimacy to the space. Everything and everyone glowed. Every table looked completely different with an eclectic grouping of candles, candleholders, and floral arrangements.”
