2026 Wed Society Savannah + Greater South Georgia Wedding of the Year

We are thrilled to announce the highly anticipated 2026 Wed Society Savannah + Greater South Georgia Wedding of the Year, Katie + Jess!

After competing against eight other standout weddings in our Instagram Stories competition, their unforgettable celebration captured hearts with its timeless elegance, meaningful traditions, and thoughtfully curated details, all brought to life by the incredible talent of our local wedding professionals.

Next, Katie + Jess will represent Savannah + Greater South Georgia as a national nominee in consideration for Wed Society’s 2026 National Wedding of the Year! A heartfelt thank you to everyone who voted, to our wonderful couple, and to the talented team of creatives who brought this extraordinary wedding vision to life. Congratulations, Katie + Jess!

Thoughtfully planned and executed by LM Events, Katie and Jess’s wedding was a beautiful reflection of their love story, honoring their Catholic faith and Irish heritage while showcasing the charm of Savannah for their closest family and friends.

The celebration began with a heartfelt Nuptial Mass at the iconic Cathedral Basilica of St. John the Baptist. Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed one of the day’s most memorable experiences: a lively stroll through downtown Savannah, led by a saxophonist, on their way to Hotel Bardo. It was the perfect transition from a meaningful ceremony to an evening of celebration.

At Hotel Bardo, the design unfolded beautifully throughout the evening. Cocktail hour welcomed guests with fresh greens and soft pinks before transitioning into a rich, romantic reception featuring moody red tones, candlelight, and vintage-inspired accents. Every detail felt intentional, from bespoke matchbooks and guest-friendly cameras to personalized touches that told the couple’s story.

Of course, Katie and Jess made sure their celebration was anything but ordinary! The evening was filled with unexpected moments, including a dancing lobster inspired by an inside joke from Katie’s bachelorette party and a surprise DJ set by Jess himself. Even their goat cake toppers held a special meaning, giving guests another glimpse into their relationship.

Reflecting on the day, bride Katie shared:

“One of my favorite moments was seeing the goat cake toppers & having family & friends ask them about it all night. Such a special & fun personal touch from early in our relationship. I also loved the hour of surprises late in the night – a friend dressed up as a dancing lobster (inside joke from the Bachelorette party) & Jess did a surprise DJ set. Earlier in the day, I also loved the walk from the Cathedral to Bardo, with Chris the saxophonist leading the way and starting the celebration!”

From the meaningful traditions to the unforgettable surprises, Katie and Jess’s wedding was a celebration that felt entirely their own.

Now, their love story is headed to the national stage! As our Savannah + Greater South Georgia Wedding of the Year, Katie and Jess are officially in consideration for Wed Society’s National Wedding of the Year, with the national winner set to be announced on Monday, October 26, 2026.
