For our August Vows That Wow, we are so excited to feature Kassidy and Mitchell Shenk! 

For Kassidy and Mitchell, their wedding day was about more than a beautiful setting — it was a reflection of their story, their style, and their love for Savannah. Set against the palm-framed waterfront of 700 Wilmington, their celebration blended coastal charm with timeless sophistication.

The Design + Florals

From the start, the couple envisioned a design that felt both soft and refined. Harvey Designs delivered just that, weaving lush greenery and pastel florals throughout every corner of the day. White roses, touches of purple tones, and muted blue accents complemented the bridesmaids’ gowns and the groomsmen’s classic black suits, while the groom stood out in a crisp white tuxedo. Large greenery installations and delicate tabletop arrangements created a seamless transition between ceremony and reception, giving the entire event a fresh yet luxurious feel.

Cocktails That Stole the Show

Another standout element? The bar. Shaken & Stirred Mixology curated an unforgettable beverage experience with cocktails as creative as they were beautiful. Each drink was crafted with precision and personality, offering guests a sip-worthy detail that elevated the evening. From thoughtfully designed garnishes to signature cocktails that reflected the couple’s tastes, the drinks became a talking point of the night and a perfect complement to the reception’s atmosphere.

Ceremony + Reception Highlights

The day unfolded with heartfelt moments and carefully planned details. A harpist welcomed guests with elegance as they arrived for the ceremony, while soft ocean breezes and sweeping waterfront views set the tone. Later, a showstopping four-tier cake by Chrislynn’s Confections, adorned with ruffled textures and delicate swoops, served as both centerpiece and sweet ending.

Kassidy and Mitchell also added playful personality to their reception. “One of our favorite memories was the cake cutting,” Kassidy shared. “We chose Pour Some Sugar On Me by Def Leppard, and the whole room was singing along. It really set the tone for a fun night of dancing to come.”

The Couple’s Perspective

Planning a wedding is always a learning experience, and for Kassidy, the biggest takeaway was trusting her instincts. “One thing I learned is to go with your gut when making decisions,” she said. “I’d often fall in love with something, second-guess myself after scrolling on social media, and then ultimately return to what I originally envisioned. Stick with your first instinct.”

For the Shenks, choosing Savannah was an easy decision. Kassidy grew up in the city, and she and Mitchell first met on Tybee Island. With most guests traveling in for the weekend, the couple wanted to showcase the beauty of the place where their love story began.

The seamless experience was made possible by an exceptional vendor team, with Kassidy noting the excellence of Kaitlyn Woodard from Sincerely Yours Events. “She knocked it out of the park,” Kassidy said. “From day one, she helped shape our vision, recommended the best vendors, and kept us on top of every detail. The weekend wouldn’t have been nearly as fun or well-organized without her.”
